I have a 6 x 10 enclosed trailer that i started using for work. I love working out of the trailer instead of a van, easy on the back. The problem is my truck is really struggling to pull this trailer. i am really surprised. I see the same trucks pulling huge campers and other loads. any suggestions ?

Couple of questions......what size engine/ trans you running? Rear end gears? Bigger tires? How heavy is the trailer unloaded? Loaded? What are you carrying and how do you have it loaded in the trailer? How many miles on the engine?

I'll bet it's just the additional wind resistance that your feeling. I have a 4 place ATV trailer that I mainly pull but the couple times I've used my uncle's 6x12 enclosed trailer, it definately feels like it pulls harder.

Yeah, we need more info on the truck and approximate weight of the trailer loaded. That would help alot.

The trailer weighs 2,100 lbs. I have the shelves over the axle for the weight. The truck and trailer together weigh 7,740 lbs. Truck is an '07 slt cc shortbed 4x4 z71 package with 5.3 motor. Not sure about the gearing.

RPO codes in the glove box will help you figure out what gears you have. GU6-3.42, GT4-3.73 and GT5-4.10.

Must be wind resistance. I don't see how it could be anything else besides being geared wrong?

I'm assuming that the 6' is width and 10' is length. Considering it is a workshop, I'M assuming that it's 6' tall (min)....... @ 2100# loaded you should barely be able to tell it's back there.

Lot's of questions (above) that you haven't answered (gears, tires etc). However, considering the fact that I tow twice what you do and I have a 4.8L engine with 3.23 gears, I'd say that you may have a mechanical problem......... just guessing

I have a 7x14 tandem axle enclosed trailer that I pull on a daily basis. I opted for the extra height which is 6" taller than the regular one. I bought the V-nose to cut down on the wind resistance. My 2011 5.3/3.42 gearing pulls it great. Cant tell it is back there until you get going 70mph down the interstate. Then there is quite a bit of wind drag, the thing is like a billboard in the wind. I'd say that is all you are feeling. try tow/haul mode if you haven't already.
