Order Of Operation

I have had a 1975 K15 for years now, and have watched sadly as the fenders, cab corners and rocker panels rusted away. I am finally in a position to start restoring this bad boy and recently purchased the fender liners and fenders for both sides. These look like they will be easy enoug to replace. However, now that I am about to start, it occurred to me that I may have the cart before the horse. I will need to cut out the cab corners and rocker panels, and weld replacement parts into place. I am anxious to get started on this project, but don't want to "paint myself into a corner" Will it matter that much if I do the fenders and liners first?
