Tansfer Case Encoder Motor Issues

Recently my service four wheel drive light came on and i had it scanned and it told me the encoder motor was no good. I took old one off the truck and noticed the motor had a crack in the case and water was inside it so i figured that was the problem. the truck was stuck in four low when i removed the motor. The spline on the new motor is in the two wheel drive postion and wont match up with the transfer case now. i plugged in the new encoder motor the see if i could turn it to the four low postion but the four wheel drive selector switch is now dead. The fuses are all fine and the switch lights up when i first start the truck but then the lights go out? Does anyone know what is going on with the truck? Its a 2006 silverado with push button four wheel drive.

Put the truck up on jackstands, Put tranny in nuetral, then take a pair of pliers and carefully shift the transfer case to match the encoder motor position. Should slide right on on when lined up.
