Thinking Of Buying Yukon That Needs Some Work

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I always seem to get great advice from yall so i was wondering what yall think about this. I would do all the work myself and after figuring the $1500 for the purchase of vehicle and a used tranny, transfer case, and differential im thinking i could still turn a pretty good profit. From what ive seen im thinking i could get everything i need for less than 3 grand. So total investment being less than 5 grand. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks guys

PARTS or REPAIR!!!! It has a bad transfer case and a bad front right differential......tranny on the way out I guess. Good exterior, 1 quarter size ding, pewter color, interior excellent, small scratch passenger window jam/arm rest/area. roof rack, tow package, well maintained, well loved.....very sad to see it go. Real Nice vehicle. I want to part it out, but my husband won't. NO HURRY!!!! If the body and interior were in excellent/clean shape, and I didn't find anything else wrong with it mechanically, I'd do it. Other than that, run. It may only need a trans, t-case and what the hell ever a right front differential is but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. :)

Yea the right front differential threw me for a loop too but i emailed the people asking them to call me with more details on it. Im thinking they meant a bearing or hub but who knows. If it quacks like a duck ill have no problems running from it as I have plenty of other things going on. Thanks for your input
