Had some fun yesterday

In spite of all the virus problems I had over the last couple days, I had a great day yesterday.  I took a day off work and me and the family went to Carowinds (an amusement park in Charlotte, NC)  Rode roller coasters most of the day and watched my son, and a friend of his that came along, play in the water park.  I tried to take the boys into riding the Top Gun roller coaster with me and my wife, but no luck.  It's one of those kinds that you sit in and your feet just hang free.  I think the idea of no floor scared them.  LOL

Me, my mom and my best friend from BSA went to Busch Gardens Tuesday. We rode all the big stuff there. Apollo's Chariot (The ride made famous by the "Fabio Incident" LOL) was our favorite. I learned something cool that day too. The Pepsi commercial w/ the kid on the Roller coaster w/ a Pepsi in hand  was shot on the AlpenGeist. So we rode 2 famous roller coasters!

I went there when I was in Jr. High ('84 I think) and had a blast.  Do they still have the Loch Ness Montster roller coaster?  I liked that one.  I'm sure there is alot more stuff there since the last time I went.

Oh yeah that's still there, it was the first thing we went on.

The Big Bad Wolf is still there too. (I think that was the first inverted roller-coaster ever, but not sure) It daybued(SP?) in '84. That one was my second favorite, it was fun cause when you ride up in front, it feels like you're gonna hit every thing. LOL

I don't think the Big Bad Wolf was there at the time I went.  I remember hearing about it afterwards and wishing I would have been ablr to ride it.  What you said about sitting in the front and feeling like your going to hit everything, that's the same with Top Gun.  It's inverted also and FAST!

I went to Bush Gardens in grade school.  It was the first or second year the Big Bad Wolf was there.  That's the only roller coaster I've ever ridden.  I rode it once and I'll never ride another one.  At that time I think the Big Bad Wolf and the Loch Ness Monster were the only real big ones they had, but I'm not sure.

I"ll never ride another one, but then again I won't ride anything that goes off the ground.  I don't like the Ferris Wheel either.  I have to have other people go to the county fair with me and my girlfriend so she can ride with them.

I haven't ridin a roller coaster in years.  Last time was at Kings Island.  The beast scared the crap out of me.  When your at the top of the incline before you go underground, your thinking, "My head is bigger than the hole we're about to go into, HOLY SH**!  Man I love those things.  Going back in August if I can afford it.

Tom, I'm very jealous that you spent your day at Carowinds.  I grew up 90 miles north of there and my sister lives in Charlotte now.  I grew up going to that park every summer and even took my wife there on her first visit to NC.  We rode a new "stand up" coaster that was awesome!  I used to love running over the state line with SC, through the park and the wave pool and riding the "Cyclone", "Thunder Road", and of course the food.  They even had a Days of Thunder simulated ride when we were last there in April of '98.

I think it's great you got to spend a day at the park with the family.  True story, some of my favorite summer memories as a kid were there.  I'll be taking my little guy as soon as we get back that way because his momma wants to go back too!

I'm with Bowtie on the ride thing. It really scares me. I have been to Busch Gardens and it is a really cool park. Tom glad you and the family had a good day together.

bush gardens is pretty cool in floridia. when i went there it was raining so there was hardly anybody there. We bought ponchos and went on all the rides. I must have rode the bumper cars like 20 times:)
