Just tilled the garden for the fall today. Ain't nothing like using an elephant gun to kill a mouse!

Yes, its in our backyard, had to lock it up for transport somewhere!

Wow a Glencoe SoilSaver... I haven't seen one of them in quite some time. We use a John Deere mulch ripper now, we had a couple of SoilSavers back in the 80's.

Have to agree with Shotgun you need some more green

OK, I'll show you some green. Two weeks ago, our 220 disk out in the stalks. Pulled by a correctly colored tractor mind you.

Oh, and the big green beast? Here she is taking a break last Saturday.

That's what my dad uses in the garden. Disc, to work the soil, and a planter to plant the sweet corn.

JP once again you got it all wrong you use Green to pull red!!

We use our JD to pull two of the best disk in the world IH 419 or IH 421 don't ask why we have two but it just worked out that way. One of the locals around here had nothing but bad luck with his JD disk so he uses one of ours from time to time and he says that the IH is better to pull and cuts better even with old blades.

Anybody like Krause or Bush Hog?? Deeres discs arent much. Really epxensive though. We've had the best luck with our Krause tandem. Other than replacing a tire, nothing else has gone wrong.

Jim and 99Silver5.3, you guys are right, Deere never has been able to make a good disk to save their life. Only reason we have this POS 220 still is because all we do is knock down stalks in the fall with it, no sense spending the money for a Sunflower (which is my choice, Krause and a few of the CIH models closely follow).

Look at this picture, notice all the pretty red?

The combine in that picture spent its last season with us this fall. Soon we'll be trading her in on a 2366, talked to a salesman today about one as a matter of fact. Its all going fine and dandy except for the final price part, ouch!
