i recently ran into the problem on gmt-800s where the rear raliper slides on disc brakes dry out and end up dragging...and needless to say with a 350 buck repair bill i'd rather not toast another set via dragging brakes...so my question to the experts, how often do they need to be greased? i have to the dealer do all of my repairs/ service and they did not even offer to install those hidious guards that GM came out with as a solution :P

like i said i let the professionals do the work on my truck, so i have no idea what they used on them..

It all depends on who you bring it to. Some grease, some dont even clean them, and some clean them and put them back without anything. I find that grease becomes really stiff when put on the slides after a couple heat cycles. I use aniseize and have not had an issue with it.
