Headlight Problem

hey guys, if you could help me out that would be great. Right now my trucks low beams do not seem to be working. I have checked the bulbs they are fine. When the truck is idling with the headlight switch in the off position, I have the daytime running lights working. When I turn the switch to the headlight to the on position, the only thing that comes on is the parking lights and you see the daytime running light do a slight flicker, almost like it was going to turn on but decided not to. It only does that when the switch is turned to the on position, it doesnt remain flickering. So basically at night its almost impossible to drive because all I have is the dim daytime running lights on... Also the highbeam works just fine.

 

Its a 1998 Sierra 1500 4X4.

You try swapping out the switch with one from the junk yard. Also check any corresponding relays that might tie into the system.
