First off I want to say that dealing with Walt at ADC Mobile was a good experience. He did what he said he would do and in a timely manner. Plus, he answered every phone call with professionalism. Walt is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with.

I wrote him an e-mail after the install and thought I would post it here.

--Morning Walt,

Got the radio Saturday morning at approx 9:30, thanks for shipping that way.

My son and I installed as per your video instructions posted on GM-Trucks forum. I did buy a set of the plastic tools to use in getting the dash parts loose and they performed perfectly. Was glad you recommended them in the video.

Was a little confused because of the reverse trigger wire that came out of the OGM-1 harness, however, just disregarded it and went forward. Have not yet understood what this wire is used for. Might be helpful if you addressed that in the video about hooking up the rear camera. ;) And address the extra wires that are optional.

All of the install was simple as outlined by your video, must say that the video was very good as to getting the parts off and where to mount the GPS antenna. I did not want or need ipod video, therefore modified the factory USB link under the drink holder tray. After cutting off the plastic top piece on the factory plug (to allow it to plug into media link) , I zip tied each end to the existing harness, so they could not vibrate apart and did not have to drill a hole in my console box. It works on the stock factory USB port already in the box perfectly. The rest of the install went well, including the rear view camera.

Rear view camera warning needs to be moved to the top (as you already know), and would love to have a button on the radio to turn it on when not in reverse, other than that the camera is great. I have the rear parking assist and it works great with the camera too. Love the lines and different colors. Colors help with the distance, so no guessing where you are in relation to the object in back.

Had an initial problem with settings staying locked into memory, rebooted the radio, did it again and it seems to be okay now. Love the equalizer, this radio is much, much better than the stock 2012 GMC radio that came in the truck. XM worked right off with no problems, iPod worked perfectly. Love the iPod list, it is easy to navigate. Blue tooth with my Droid X2 went right in, and my contact list, so that is extremely easy to do and use.

In summary, Radio is very good, menu's are easy to use, all features are simple to use. Rear view camera Warning bar is in the wrong place to see properly when trying to hook up to a trailer. Needs a button on radio to allow use of rear view camera when not in reverse because allot of us tow trailers and would be great to check hitch, chains etc while towing. I am happy with the radio and the camera, glad that I went this way instead of the factory setup at twice the price.

Thanks again,

Butch Butler

Again, thanks Walt for recommending a good product, and for your time and knowledge to make this a pleasant experience. Especially, for taking the time on the phone calls to answer my many questions. I will enjoy this system for a long time.

Also, does the 'talking head' button on the steering wheel mute the radio like OEM when you press it once? (if you hold the talking head button down, then it accesses OnStar)
