2010 Suburban StabiliTrak/stutters and dies.

Question for the guru's here: My sister has a 2010 Suburban. Two months ago while driving down the freeway, the Stabilitrak warning light illuminated, the engine stumbled with a very rough idle and she had to pull over. It was towed to the dealer, she had them perform a diagnostic and a complete servicing, They reported finding nothing wrong.

Last week, the same thing happened. Stabilitrak light, engine stutters, so she pulls over. While she's sitting there, the check engine light comes on, and 'Engine power is reduced' comes on the display. She took a photo of everything before calling the tow truck.

Similar story from the dealer. They find nothing wrong. They even go as far to say there is no evidence the check engine light was ever illuminated. Of course she shows them the picture, but that got her nowhere.

She's about ready to trade it in, and thanks to the dealer that claims there's nothing wrong with a vehicle that doesn't prefer to run(LOL), it won't be for another Chevy. Unfortunately she's about 500 miles from me, and first hand help is impossible right now. She has only one nearby dealer.

My question is, after searching archives, I find nothing similar to this problem. Has anyone had an issue like this? Any technical direction I can point her in?

Thanks!

Hi;

My 2009 Silverado has been doing the same thing randomly for about the last week. I have found that if I turn the ignition off for a minute or so and restart the problem goes away. When I read the codes on mine I got a P2135. Search this code and you will find a lot of information. I have tightened the battery cables and have not had the truck act up for a couple of days. The bumper to bumper warranty has expired on my truck but I hope that if I have to take it to the dealer it will be covered under the powertrain warranty.

Thanks for the help guys. The difference between dealers is amazing and sad. Apparently the dealer in Fairfield doesn't have a clue. She took it over to Napa(Jimmy Vasser Chevrolet), and they figured it out within minutes. Problem fixed, under warranty. Next time I talk to her, I'll ask what was wrong. Thanks again.
