Lately, my dad has been wanting to get a early to mid 1990's BMW for a "family car", and we have found one for a great deal. thsi just happened to be bigger, badder, faster, and a lot more loaded than we planed on. What is it?

 

1990 BMW 750iL

5.0 liter V-12, dual K&N cones, 310-315HP and 340-350 tq

4-speed StepTronic(manual or auto)

built in radar dectetor

6-disc CD changer

ASC Traction Control

heated, full power leather seats(perfect condition)

sunroof

Has maintaince records

power everything

Optioned BMW BBS wheels, they may be two or three piece, but I'm not sure

interior/exterior awesome

onboard computer

runs, drives, idles, handles flawlessly.

Crimson Metallic

 

What do you guys think of a car like this, if you know what I'm talking about?

oh yeah, it will run to 60 in a hair over 7 sec. according to the info I've found, 1/4 in around mid 15's.

 

Top speed limited to 155

The 750iL is only one step smaller than a Limo.  And it has tons of performance!!!

 

Have you ever sat in the back seat of one?  I have, and I was extremely impressed with the room and comfort features.  This car is truely a luxury sports sedan (limo).  No it isn't an "M" series, but it is definatly a sweet machine, and that is the reason they are so expensive...

At about 4:30 PM, we will be leaving for another look at the 750. I've gotten good background info on the engine, and after I take a brief look through the maintinance records(15-30min, most), and confirm the important stuff has been delt with(its a little over one of the "milage zones" where some things HAVE to be replaced due to age and wear).......this smoked cheese dosen't taste smoked anymore.............anyways, after I check that, if it all looks good, I think it'll be a go. I'll give an update tonight. And go over the quality check list.(doubt I'll miss many checks, this car was $73,000 13 years ago)

the good:

in negotiation stage for the 750, price has dropped big

 

 

the bad:

b/c we took it to our "BMW guy" and it needs $1500 for a transmission seal and new door handle"which works for me, somehow".

 

 

the ugly:

its now setting on the lot with a really low price, hope no one gets it, but if they do, SUPRISE!

Good luck with the final negotiations.  It would be a sweet ride!!!  What color is it?

its a crimson metallic-ish. The BMW mechanic who checked it out for us couldn't believe the condition. If we get it, should have pics by the end of the year, unless my junk digital camera decides it can take one more good shot

well, we AREN'T getting it, called around, and found a shop that has seen 750's run out wealthy people becuase of repair prices. The guy said could look a visisting a hsop once a month for repairs, so now were looking for a NICE GM with a series 2 3.8(yeah, broad range), or a 89-92 BMW 535i
