Hey folks new to the board - 01 silverado with 255k miles all original and still Truckin! - recently have had issues with heater blowing cold air or barely working. Anything higher than a 2 setting and its done...occasionally it will put out a ton of heat with the heater off! and at the wrong times!!?? Just ponied up the $$ to have 3 actuator doors/motors replaced and a temp selector with no effect...took it back to the dealer and they say it needs heater core and yet another door/actuator replaced?? lately the windshield has started to fog up as well... Lookin for thoughts before I rip the dash out or take i to the dealer to pony up the bucks to have all this crap replaced....Love my truck but the freezin in the winter time ain't cool.... :(

If you are not getting all blower settings or it is staying on high even after shut off it may a be needing a new resistor, found under the dash, passenger side beside blower motor. Window fogging does however sound like bad core.
