Accelerator pedal & sensor

I'm looking to buy an accelerator pedal for a project i'm building and would like to use one from the 03-05 era trucks but I have one little question. Are all the pedals and sensors on the pedals all the same, essentially, for all years, makes, engines and transmissions during this time? Basically, did GM use one pedal and sensor for everything from a 4.8 v8 to a 6.6 duramax? I know the pedals changed in 2006 to something less responsive but you can obviously tell its a different set up. the 03-05 pedals all look the same throughout all makes and models with varying options.
