Starter Solenoid?

Hey guys, i have a 2004 gmc 2500 ccsb and sometimes the truck does not turn over at all. When it does this i just wiggle the wires going into the starter, it looks like a starter sloenoid attached to the starter, and then it turns right over. Does anybody know what it could be. Do i have to get a new starter to just replace the solenoid?

You shouldn't be able to wiggle the wires at all, which leads me to believe your issue might just be a loose connection. Try cleaning and retightening all three eyelets on the starter and see if the problem persists.

x2, just try to tighten those connection first (obviously, clean them if they are dirty or greasy).

Yeah, I agree. If cleaning and tightening doesn't get you anywhere you might have to pull the starter. I had a similar issue and my solenoid ended up being shot. I took it to an automotive electrical shop and they rebuilt my starter and solenoid for around $95.00 which is 10x's better than a piece of junk replacement front an auto parts store.
