Intake Cleaner Usage?

I was going to use some air intake cleaner on my truck but wasn't sure if the engine is supposed to be running while you do it or not. The instructions really aren't clear.

You can do either, If you do it running you will need to have your air intake tube near your intake. Your engine will not run long with it disconnected. When your engine starts to die, connect your intake back.

If you are doing it because the pedal is sticking a touch then do it with the engine off. You will have a hard time cranking it afterwards but it will stop your check engine light from going off. That is the way I did mine. I did mine twice to make sure I got the intake clean.

while doing it, have someone doing the gas pedal or pull the throttle lever yourself to keep it alive. Works better while running.
