Burning up clutches

I've had to replace my transmission, and since then, I've burned up the clutch for 3rd & 4th gears twice in about 30,000 miles. I use the truck as a daily driver, throttle responsibly, and occasionally use it for towing/hauling, but never heaver than two Harleys. Fluid levels are okay, so what else could be causing the premature wear?

where the shift adapts reset when the transmission was installed ?

 

they are known for 3-4 clutches goin for a poop ,,,,,,the cause could be 6 things ,,,,you still want to know ? you just curious or gonna dive in and fix it yourself ?

 

twice in 30,000 is premature and i hope you got warranty from the company that built it

Thanks. I don't have any plans on doing it myself; I've never done any power train work on cars/trucks. The last time this happened I was recommended to a Chevy dealership, and that's who I'm going to visit on my next day off. I just want to have some talking points for when I show up besides "Hey, WTF!?"

what about warranty on it ?from my last post ? where did you buy the tranny ?,,,,who built it ?

 

and dont tell the dealer what to look for ,,,the advisor (or tech) does NOT care what you think ,,,he will process the work order and hit "enter "

 

the tech will take important info you give like you stated above in the "complaint " column and ,,,,if it was on my hoist ,you would get offered a GM rebuilt unit with a 3 yr warranty as the tranny in the truck is a POS and needs to go back for a real rebuild ...it would be crushed most likely when returned

 

i would not set myself up for a comeback by fixing your tranny ,,its a failed previous build

I'm a tech for Harley, so I do understand what you mean. I don't recall what the warranty situation is; that's something I'll be talking about on Friday. The trans is a reman from Phillips Transmisaions, in Arizona. I wouldn't normally go with aftermarket powertrain parts, but there were extenuating circumstances, namely time and money.

i get that ,check your receipt and call them,you most likely have a yr warranty and i dont know the conversion for milage this early in the day lol
