OEM Radio Swap

I've posted on here before about wanting to install a double din touchscreen head unit in my truck. However the more I looked into it I didn't feel like I could justify spending that much money on such a system.

Originally I wanted to swap out my AM/FM radio for one with CD and aux, but the sales person I bought my truck from said it wasn't possible sometime later I read on this forum that it was extremely difficult to find a dealer that knew how to unlock a stereo removed from another truck. A few weeks ago I looked into the subject again and found someone on eBay selling unlocked OEM radios.

I paid $166 for mine and got it from this seller.

Install is simple plug and play.

First gently pull off the center dash panel which is held in by metal clips start on the top passenger side

Then take out the climate controls which are held in by two 7mm screws. After the screws are out remove the two plugs. Next take out the four screws holding the radio in, (my truck only had three I got screwed out of a screw at the factory.:P) unplug it, and pull it out of the dash.

Make sure when your putting the new radio in not to pinch any wires. Plug And screw everything and you good to go.

Why not upgrade to the USB since you went through that trouble?
