what does this new code mean,? why so different ?

 

isnt "K" 4wd and "2" 3/4 ton ?

I don't know Rob, maybe K is for thousand? And the XX will be the year the vehicle came out? Or maybe some internal code that has no meaning. lol

 

The C/K designation for drive system quit in '98 I think. But I was in grade school then.

c/k is still used in vins a few yrs ago,

 

any new truck owners have it still followed by 1,2 or 3 ?

I know in my 04 it is 2gteC which is Canadian built half ton GMC 2wd. Then 19 which is extended cab. I havent seen a VIN breakdown of the 2014's yet
