Fog Lights and Parking Lights for DRL Advice? (2007-2013)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, recently upgraded my old 2005 sierra to a new 2011 , I have previously performed the diode trick under the dash and had the 6 hi mod with fogs as my DRL's. My question is has anyone tried this in the newer truck under the dash?, i've found several post on hooking the fogs to low beams in the fuse box however I would like to keep this concealed and discrete. I've also came across tapping the diode into the high relay trigger (X4 pin 16) however I would like them on with the lows. I've found the wiring diagram for the BCM and my plan is to pull my DRL fuse so that they just don't come on. What I plan on doing is below all of which is related to the connectors to the BCM:

- Run a diode from DRL relay (X4 pin 23) to parking light relay (X5 pin 24)

- Run a diode from Parking light relay (X5 pin 24) to fog lamp relay (X4 pin 11)

My main question, has this been done? In doing so I believe that if the diode that runs from the parking light relay would then in turn activate the fogs since the parking lamps come on when the headlights turn on? By pulling the DRL would this cause any messages in the BCM to precent the relay trigger from activating?

Again sorry for so many question, I haven't gotten a chance to tinker with it yet,

Below are two images of the BCM connectors in question.
