New battery time for Gmt 9000

I searched for this topic and found a couple of related threads but found this one to be most helpful (http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/126992-2007-gmc-sierra-battery/?hl=%2Breplacing+%2Bbattery&do=findComment&comment=1154569). It's a couple of years old now but the part numbers were helpful and the prices on some of the recommended ones were close and some seem to have jumped off the chart in that time. In checking out different options though I ran across the Duracell Group 34 Battery with 1020 CCA and 115 Reserve Capacity for less than $85 at Sam's Club. I'm just wondering if anyone on the board has used one of these Duralast batteries and what they think of them or of the Energizer that Sam's carries too?

Thanks,

Mike

I have never used an Energizer battery but I have used and recommend any of the following batteries. Just buy which ever battery you can get the easiest and you feel is best in your area.

Napa legend 84

Autozone Duralast Gold

Advance Auto Gold

Interstate megatron

Sears die hard gold

Deka Pro/maximizer- same as napa legend

Wal-mart Everstart maxx- the cheapest usually

I do not recommend optima batteries. I had one and it only lasted 2 years, the shortest battery life I have ever had.

I've got a 12 year old optima in the garage still holding a charge...... I had it in vehicles until 2010 and it only started dropping off of full charge enough not to trust it in a driver last year. YMMV
