AFM and Gas Mileage for last weekends trip

Ok so here are mileage numbers from the trip.

 

170 mile trip each way, drive down to Dallas from OKC ended up with right at 300 miles on tank with 2/3rds being highway and a 1/3 city driving. DIC showed 19.1mpg, hand calculation was 18.29mpg. Speed limit was 75 most of the way with me doing the speed limit.

 

Drive home from Dallas to OKC had a 100 miles on the tank of all highway miles, DIC showed 19.9 and hand calculation was 19.2. When I gassed up this morning and calculated the mileage I got 18.4 for the last 110 miles we had done of mixed driving but at highway speeds.

 

Truck has 1400 miles on it, so I am pretty happy with the mileage. It is getting better mileage than the 2010 Sierra with the 5.3 that it replaced. I feel like once the motor gets to 5000 miles it will be broke in fully and be about as good as it will get.

 

Now for those talking about AFM, from looking at the factory calibration on my previous truck in order for AFM to activate there has to be less than 6% throttle input, anything more than that and the truck will not go into V4 mode. Noticed the truck was going into V4 a fair amount while driving around the city, on this trip on the highway once over 65mph V4 mode vary rarely kicks in due to the throttle input being above the kick in tolerance.

 

I am really happy with the trucks performance. I can tell it has picked up some power now that it is over the 1000 mile mark and it seems replacing the restrictive stock muffler has helped as well not only in some more sound with a deeper tone, but with power as well. I was surprised to have picked up some power but seeing how restrictive the stock muffler was on the inside I am not surprised.
