T-case control module question

Hey, I have a question about the 4WD problem in my 2005 Silverado. I have been getting the common "service 4WD" code in my truck. I have read a lot of different threads on this problem. So far I have cleaned up the grounds to the frame under the drivers side door, replaced the encoder motor twice and replaced the 4WD buttons on the dash. My truck is most likely to have this problem when it is wet outside, cold outside or when I hit big bumps. My question is, how likely is it that my transfer case control module is faulty? I don't know if a dealership can test to see if it is bad, but I dont want to keep throwing money at the problem blindly. Thanks for the help. Sorry if this is a repeat thread.

I also want to add that sometimes when I start my truck up, the transfer case has switched to 4LO and is stuck there. Also, when I am in 4HI I have never had the "Service 4WD" come on.

did you know the message means there is a code to be diag'd? im guessing not ,,,

ya might as well change the TCCM ,you've changed everything else already ,,,,,,

I didnt mean to come across as pissy. What do you mean by diagnosing it properly? This problem is kicking my ass. I have read a lot about faulty speed sensors as well. Diagnosing the problem properly is what I would like to do. If this means taking it to the dealership, at this point I am willing to do that. However, taking it to the dealership might not be worth while unless I am currently having the problem? Again, sorry for coming off pissy in my earlier post. I appreciate the help.

the code is 327,,,you threw 2 encoder motors and a switch at it ,,,,,problem still there ,,,,,,all ya really have left is the TCCM, having a garage start from fresh is almost not worth it except the TCCM may need to be programmed ,(i cant remember ) in that case have a garage diag it so its not on you for the decision ,,

it seemed pissy to me when i read it the first time ,dam texting takes all the emotion and sincerity out of actually talking lol,,,some people think im abit blunt so i may be abit gun shy about what u said so i apologize ,,,,

do a battery disconnect thing and see if that helps ,,,,,its all up to you ,,,others should weigh in toooo

Yeah texting gets me in trouble with people all the time. My local Chevrolet dealership told me that they can run tests on the TCCM to see if there are any faults. $90 seems pretty fair to tell me whats wrong. My truck is throwing the code all the time now so I really want to get this figured out before another snow storm comes along. Thanks for your help, I will see what they say and post updates.

So they checked it out and said that my encoder motor thinks the truck is moving even when it is stopped. They also said that the aftermarket encoder motor I bought from A1 Cardone may not be up to GM specs. I am taking it back up there for free on Monday when their driveline techs are there.

OK so I take the hint that buying an aftermarket motor was not such a good idea. My question is.... replace the sensor in the aftermarket motor or go for a used factory GM motor from a low mileage truck?

again you are going for a cheaper method of repair by purchasing a USED electrical part ...

do what ya want bud !!!

I know I know.... im the guy that tries to go cheap and ends up spending way more money in the process. Looks like the driveline mechanics will be taking a look at it again today at 1:00. At this point I hope my encoder motor is bad so I dont have to buy a TCCM!
