I changed the BRAKE light switch on my 2008 because the cruise control wouldn't work right. There is no adjustment like on some old style BRAKE light switches. You either have a bad switch or some other problem.

what brand switch did you buy, I replaced mine twice with it making my brake lights stay on. I tried twice with bwd? its the non name brand from oreillys. Then just bought the AC Delco from the dealership, was actually cheaper anyway, and it worked great.

I had the same experience with a switch from Autozone I bought because the dealers were not open. Replaced with GM switch and no more problem.

I also had this issue, I think it was Standard products brand. First one was defective lights stayed on all the time, second one worked fine.

Update... second one crapped out after a week. Ordered an ACDelco replacement. Don't buy a non ACDelco part for this.
