where to set instrument cluster dials 04 sierra 2500

ok i just bought a 04 sierra 2500.. and the speedo was goin all crazy so after some research i bought some stepper motors and new bulbs and replaced them... well i didnt know you had to mark the the dials with tape... so yea... i was wondering if someone knows where im supose to put them.. or perhaps even take a good pic or somthing... thanks for the help...

Leave the clear plastic off and use a GPS. Set your cruise, check the speed, and set the needle at the GPS indicated speed.

 

As far as the others you need a Scangauge or similar to tell you the values of voltmeter, water temp, and oil pressure are with the truck running. Make sure it's completely warmed up, the engine temp gauge isn't accurate until it's at operating temp. As for fuel, fill the tank and set it to full. :)

The video below won't give you exact placement but should get you close. You may need to set them, install the cluster and check them out to find out how far off you are and then pull the cluster again to make adjustments. As mentioned above, you can use GPS and a full tank to see where you are at for speed and fuel tank. Use a multimeter for volts. RPM, oil pressure, and coolant temp will require a scanguage or some newer code readers can also give you some of these readings. Hope this helps.
