Anybody else have issues with On-star?

So I bought my 2013 silverado last may bran new, got the 6 month on star plan, directions and connections deal, I liked it a lot go into your phone app and send directions to on-star and it tells your truck where to go, great! It worked for about a month. One day I went to put it into my

Phone it said sending to vehicle and it would sit there and load, then it would clear like normal and so nothing. So press the blue button on my mirror to talk to someone about it, I was transferred through 3 people, got out on hold with the 3rd person, then hung up on. I figured alright, accidental hangup. Called back, SAME THING HAPPENED! So I gave up that day, kept trying randomly over the next couple months to send directions to my truck, would not work tried calling again I talked to a girl, she had never heard of this and tried sending the directions to my truck it would not work. So she basically said I don't know what to tell you but I can't help you. Pretty frustrated at this point and was just not happy with the whole on star experience and that they would pester me over and over to buy it. For what? Crappy service to myself and people that don't have any answers, and with part of that plan they can tell you where your vehicle is when stolen, but hey only if you pay for it, if not...your screwed. My experience with on star was terrible and makes me never want to have it. This is my rant lol I'm a licensed automotive technician, scanned every module on the truck for codes in case it was the trucks fault, and no codes found. Radio works perfectly otherwise, base radio. Thanks for hearing me out anyone else have on star issues if you've often this far into this rant to read this lol

The onstar module/VCIM on my 2011 malfunctioned, causing it to constantly try calling onstar (rare failure, but covered in a TSB), resulting in a totally dead Chevy three times. That's right, the system that's supposed to save my bacon totally cooked it. After the VCIM was replaced, I declined their offer for an extension of the free trial, cancelled the service, and told them never to call me again. Also cancelled it on the Traverse for fear the same thing would happen to that vehicle. Running the cell phone through the VCIM works just fine for us, and it's all we need.

That screwup almost caused me to begin lemon law proceedings on a 2 month old truck that I otherwise had fallen in love with, as the dealer couldn't find the problem in 3 visits over a month. I troubleshot the bulk of the problem myself, with the aid of Helm schematics and t-shoot tables. Once I thought I had it, I called Chevy customer assistance to review and validate my diagnosis; they were very helpful and got the ball rolling on the repair very quickly. The truck has been absolutely trouble free since then; a total joy to own and drive.
