Stock shocks with 2" lift

Well since getting my truck a few weeks ago, I'm at a point of installing new things.  My next thing will be new shocks.  I have had a set of Bils before on my other truck and most recently had Gabriel VST's on the same truck.  The reason I changed was due to lifting it and the Bils not having enough extension.  I absolutely loved the Gabriels, the ride was amazing even after a 4" lift.  After lifting my 97 Chevy 2", will stock length shocks still work?  Will they have enough extension?  Thanks, Chris

How did you attain a 2" lift??  I cranked my torison bars and am trying to find out the same answer.  If they are cranked up, do you just have to replace the front shocks with longer ones or all 4??

I just cranked the front torsion bars 1.75" and put a 2" lift block in the rear, that's why I'm changing all four, otherwise you really only need to change just the front if they are too short.  I guess if no one knows I can do it the hard way and measure and cross reference the numbers of different shocks on the internet.  That's how I found out that the newer body style Tahoe shocks were long enough to fit my Toyota, 25" extended, 15" compressed.  I guess I need to find out what is the ext/comp of the stock shocks are.  What truck do you have, I'll look for yours as well.  Chris

Well, I thought I'd post these #'s to see if anyone knows if these sound right for the stock Ext/Comp shock lengths.  For the front, Ext. was 18.00", Comp. was 11.75".  For the rear, Ext. was 25.50", Comp. was 15.50".  Do these sound about right?  I guess I'll have disconnect the shocks and lift the truck up and see what the #'s are.  Chris
