Duramax Injectors

I was told yesterday that someone replaced his injectors on his Duramax. The truck had 285000 km. He paid 800 CDN for each injector. I find that hard to believe. Does anyone know what they are worth?

I couldn't wait for a response. So I went to the local Chevy dealer. Just a few examples.

D/A Factory engine: 17,000 Cdn!!

8.1L Factorty engine: 11,000 Cdn!!

D/A turbocharger: 4,500 Cdn!!

Allison Tranny: 5,600 Cdn!!

8 D/A injectors 6,400 Cdn!!!!

Cost of labour, extra!!

It is becoming apparent that once the warranty runs out better trade the truck.

All those extra "fuel savings" are gonna go down the drain if something happens after 100k.   Oh well, it will still be worth it.

Im sure they can be purchased aftermarket much cheaper.I would love to know this trucks service history.Definetely out the ordinary unlike oil swilling 8.1.Im sure if you look hard enough you can find negatives with anything.Remember when you do sell truck its worth 5,000 usd more then gasburner.First I have heard of injector failure,engine has been proven (think Broker).
