I bought my 2015 GMC Denali 3500 in Canada, then moved to the USA and imported the truck. In Canada, the text/apps/pandora features are locked out. Now that I'm in the US:

A) can a dealer unlock those features, particularly the text feature?

B) if not, can I get one of the after market people to unlock it and if so, will it create any mechanical or warranty problems?

Thank in advance!

Is the truck now registered in the states? Does it have license plates from your state on it? And lastly, is the registered owner a resident of the USA? If all are yes, then why not just go into a dealer and play stupid? Tell them that you are trying to get your phone to work with Intellilink and it just won't work. Maybe they will unlock it.

I have tried to locate any information regarding Intellilink on the 2015 3500 Denali on the Canadian GMC site, and, there is no mention of any apps being supported that I can see. On the 2014 Terrain Denali they show some apps being supported in Intellilink. What do you see on the display that leads you to think it is a locked out feature?

There is no apps or text button on my truck so they are locked out. I can't just play stupid as the VIN is a Cdn VIN. They will know I bought it in Canada immediately. Lol. Plus, where I live in North Dakota, (oilfield) it is weeks to get an appointment so wandering in is not an option. They won't even talk to you on the phone except to book the appt particularly if you didn't buy the truck from them. So I'll have to drive to another dealer, probably a days drive away. That is why I figured I'd ask here first. :-)

By play stupid I meant in the sense that you don't know why it does not work for you but does for another guy, and also don't call ahead, just next time you happen to see a dealer (Chev or GMC does not matter) just stop in and ask innocently.

If you were a resident of Canada, bought the truck, then emigrated to the states, the dealers cannot give you a hard time about where you bought this truck from. If they do, you owe it to them to remind them that your next $70k+ vehicle will be purchased locally, just as that one was. Are they sure they want to piss off the future customer?
