Tailgate question

Need to replace the tailgate on my Sierra 1500 and found one on Craigslist that came off a 2500. I can't think of any reason they'd be different but thought I'd ask first, is there any difference between them?

Gate is the same the top plastic spoiler is different on the HD tailgate.

Different how? Would it affect the way it meets up with a Truxedo bed cover?

I don't think so. The 1500 tailgates have that "spoiler" style top plastic on them with the 4 screws, the 2500 tailgate has the smooth top plastic without the spoiler and doesn't have those 4 screws, just sticks on. Should have no effect on the bed cover.
