They stick on the very corners of the lights. To be DOT legal here in California....they have to be reflective.

I've gotten nailed for my clear tails on my 99 S10 (RIP) one time. I saw a cop walking by my truck at night and he flashed his flashlight on them. They didn't reflect back so he knew they were illegal.

So if you live in California and want to keep them legal...put them on.....or not because they look really ugly. As long as you use amber bulbs, I don't think you'll get hassled. :D

Some states require that you have some sort of reflective material on the front and back.  When I had my burb, i had the snow caps on the back (non-reflective w/ led bulbs) and all clear up front with all white bulbs and no reflectors.  It was amazing, when I was in California during one summer, I didn't get nailed once by the cops.  I did get questioned once at a stop but since I am from "out of state" I got away with it.

I'd be sure to check out your local laws cause no one wants to get a ticket for something as small as a little reflector! :D
