step mounting question

Bought a set of used steps on Craig's I'm trying get them on and the rear mounts on truck are not threaded, nor is there a but welded on body like on the front, am I missing something?

The OEM steps come with hardware to bolt to the holes in the rocker panel. I think the hardware piece is called a "U-nut" or something like that. I installed the assist steps on my truck but threw away the instructions, but there was a hardware package included. As you noted, some of the bolts screw into existing threaded fittings in the rocker panel and some require you add the U-nut into the holes in the rocker. Sounds like you're missing the hardware.

I think this might be what you need.

looks like it, what about how it bounts up top into the body? those look like they will work where it bolts on the rocker

The rear bracket took two clips ...........the front 2 brackets didn't need clips. Yours may be different.
