Very nice truck. I did not realize there was that much difference between 285 and 315's. Is that the same tire just a diff wheel on the other comparison? They have the same tread, just a totally different look. :thumb:

Looks like you have a Pontiac Widetrack Silverado HD.

Looks nice, looking forward to seeing the 315's and the lift.  :thumb:

Crap, are those just Eagle Alloy rims? I thought they were Weld Racing Stone Crushers at first. They look great!

I was really wanting Weld Racing Stone Crushers until I found out about the price. They're insanely expensive up here in Canada.

Now I'm trying to decide between the same Eagles you have:

and the Diamond Locks from American Racing:

The deciding factor for me is going to be maintenance. What are your wheels like to keep clean? I have heard bad things about polished aluminum having the finish go bad and being a heck of a lot of work to keep them looking nice. Is there any truth to that?

I'm not one for getting down on my knees and polishing my wheels, so that's why I was considering the AR ones, since they are clearcoated. I live in an area where road salt and long winters are a big problem too.

Do you guys with polished aluminum wheels have a hard time keeping them shiny? Or can you just hose them off with a pressure washer and wipe them down and be done with them?

Since you said you don't like the idea of getting down to polish the wheels, I'd say go for the ones that are clearcoated.  They will be as easy to clean as the factory wheels (assuming you have the aluminum ones).  I had a set of clearcoated aluminum AR wheels on another truck, and they were very very easy to maintain.  Just be careful and don't get harsh chemicals on them, it could mes up the clearcoat.  When I did get stuff like Wesly's bleach white tire cleaner and that spray on tire foam stuff, I wiped it off immediately with a wet rag.  You can get wheel cleaners that are same to use on clearcoated wheels too.

My dad had a set of non-clearcoated AR wheels (Baja's) on his old Dodge, and he said they never looked the same after going through a winter season no matter how much cleaning he did to them.  He eventually sold them and bought a different set of AR wheels that were clearcoated.

Good luck.  :banghead:
