Water in the lights?

Recommended Posts

I am having a serious issue with condensation in my tailights and fog lights. Like standing water, and it is blowing up the bulbs and ruining the sockets. I have replaced 3 light sockets. Is there a repair for this? I can get new fog lights cheap enough, but massachusetts is real funny about after market lights, so id like to try and repair my tail lights

Haven't you heard of replacing the lens fluid?

The lenses gather condensation from crappy seals at the sockets. What I do it on a hot day, remove the lights, shake out the water.... and place them out in the sun to remove the moisture. I have gone as far as taking a blow gun and blowing for awhile to remove most of the moisture then using a blow drier to remove the rest. You can get most out then putting dielectric sealant on the sockets to help seal from moisture.

If light sockets don't seal it then the light assemblies are toast
