Wood Trim

Has anyone pulled of the wood trim on the doors? Is it just snaps and can I just snap it back on if I pull it off?

I have. It has some tabs on the top, and then 3 or 4 clips in the middle actually hold it in place. Start at one side, gently prying from the bottom to pop the clips and it will come right out.

What's underneath it? Is it worth doing?

Mine seem to rattle with certain bass frequencies with the Bose system. I need to pull them off to see if I can pad them with some foam to solve that problem. But as usual I'm afraid I will break them in the process.

Not sure I understand the question. Perhaps your question is if you can just leave them off if you don't like the wood look? If so my opinion is no, because internal door parts are underneath it. I had to remove them to resolve some vibration related buzzing in the doors, and then popped them back on, and based on the OP's wording, I assume he's looking to cleanly pull them so he can put them back on once he's done inside the door.

This is EXACTLY why I had to pull mine off. I found the buzzing to be them and the actual window and door lock control modules sitting in their holders as well. I used various pieces and sizes of stick-on felt in different spots to take up the slack and stop the buzzing.

What did you use to pull them off?

I actually want to pull them off so I can wrap them since I don't particularly like the wood color. I'll most likely wrap them carbon fiber or a slate color or to match the wrap I'm going to do on the outside. I could do it with them on but I don't want to risk cutting the leather when trimming. Thanks for the info. I'll take some pictures of what they look like when I pull them off.

I just don't like the wood grain look. My dad loves it, albeit in his M5 - but that's a different car and real wood.
