Factory Alarms

This article is a little dated, but was wondering if GM made any changes in the factory alarms on the 2014+ trucks?

 

In my old neighborhood, 4 Chevy 2008 and newer were stolen and they failed to get my 2012 Avalanche that was only 3 weeks old!

I had on video, home security, how they stole my neighbors 1500. They dropped someone off about 2 house down, in a matter of seconds the guy would pop the lock, get into the truck, then jack the steering column and shifter, put the truck into neutral, (our driveways had a steep incline so the truck naturally start moving), the truck that dropped the thug off would then push the stolen truck to secluded area so they would strip them.

After that, I put in a viper alarm tied in with a train horn. In that senerio, I'm guessing a factory alarm really can't help much.

 

Needless to say, we sold our house and moved to a better area after that.
