iPhone mirroring onto 2014 Silverado my link screen

Hey all. I have an electronics question for anyone in here that knows about this kinda thing. I have a iPhone 6 plus and I want to mirror it to my 2014 Silverado screen. I don't want to buy the upgrades and modules that cost $700-$1200 bucks. Has any done this and worked around that with a set of cables and wires to basically plug n play instead of spending a fortune on the module? Thanks for any info.

There are now some options I believe.

One thing for sure is I'm not spending $800-$1200 for a module someone paid $450 then flashed a new program on it. Besides you will always be limited by the vehicle hardware. Why bother when you will have a unlimited number of apps using a smartphone once CarPlay and Android Auto get more mainstream.

There are 2 Crux units. The RVCGM-80C not sure if you can mirror or not. The WVIGM-04M supposedly is a wireless module kit designed for GM vehicles at about $350. The information is a bit limited on how this one works and how to install it in specific vehicles. This appears to be a wireless connection to your phone. Not sure on compatibility with certain phones.

Also there is the HD-LINK IW03GF that some are selling as an overpriced kit but you can buy it directly from the Korean manufacturer. The cost is also about $350 shipped. The manufacturer doesn't have specific instructions on GM trucks but it shouldn't be to hard to figure out. This is a USB connection to your phone.

Both units connect into the CANBUS of your vehicle so you can use certain buttons on the display interface.

I'm still gathering information on these. Obviously there are going to more and more available as companies realize there is a demand for screen mirroring interfaces.
