If you are as anal as I am about things here's a solution to those hollow frame support tubes in front of and behind the rear wheels. First pick up four 2" schedule 40 PVC caps at Home Depot or Lowes. Chamfer the edges and sand, file or grind off the raised lettering on the caps. Next apply a medium coat of silicone sealer to the outside of the caps. Insert into the tubes as far as you want. Let the sealant dry and paint or undercoat to taste. Should keep all the winter salt, slush and grime out as well as eliminate any future rust. Here's some pics of how I did mine.

Not bad. Although leaving them open for dying and regular washing of the truck would probably help with the long term rust prevention. Your solution looks nice though.
