Blend Door Actuator replacement on 2007-2013

Hello,

First off, I'm new here, great forum with a a lot of information!

I've been looking for information on the mode and blend door actuators for the 07-13's. I've found a plethora of information for the older models, but not much of any for the new ones. Does anyone have any information on the location and the replacement procedures for the newer models?

I have a 2009 Silverado LTZ with Dual Zone climate control. I believe I have a failing passenger side blend door actuator. Sometimes when I have the windshield defrost on, the drivers side blows hot, and the passenger side is ice cold. When I change modes/vents, the same issue continues. Sometimes if I turn on the passenger side zone and crank the temp up and down it starts to work properly. I've performed the reset/re-calibration several times, but the issue returns. However, it's intermittent.

I fear that I know the answer--that the passenger side actuator is buried in the middle, back in the dash like the older models, but I was hoping that maybe it got engineered better. If anyone has any information, I would be grateful. Otherwise I'm going to tear mine apart soon before the snow files, and I'll try to share my findings.
