I apologize if I missed this topic in the search. I did a quick search but didn't see anything...

I'm having a problem with my 09 Sierra. In the last week, I've had two instances where I go to start the truck and nothing....no clicking, starter not engaging, nothing.. Power is not an issue because I have a brand new battery and alternator installed.

I've been able to wiggle the keys around, take them out the ignition and put them back in several times and eventually It'll start..

A quick search on google suggests something wrong with the chip in my key??

Anyone experienced this and if so, what's the fix. A trip to the dealership or somekind of bypass??

I appreciate any help!

When you turn the key on, do any lights come on in the dash? Does the door bell chime when the door is open with key in the ignition?

Have you tried shifting the trans into neutral and seeing if it will start then? Or maybe just moving the shift lever around in park to see if it will crank?

All of the above!

It did crank in netural one time.

The lights do come on the dash. Everything is at full power.
