PIT5358 Repetitive Popping Noise From All Speakers

Hey guys,

 

I bought my 2015 Sierra 1500 SLE 4WD a few months ago. From day 1 I noticed a popping noise on some country radio channels. I am a technician for BMW so I know how hard audio system complaints could be. I started diagnosis and confirmed noise only happens on FM channels, (XM, CD, IPOD not affected). I made a service appointment a couple weeks later to have it looked at.

 

The techinican supplied me with bulletin PIT5358 Repetitive Popping Noise From All Speakers. The PIT described my exact complaint. At that time, it was information only as GM was looking for a fix. The bulletin release date was December 2014. I initially was taken back, by the fact the it was almost a year with a bulletin released with no fix. Maybe I am spoiled working for BMW, but our bulletins are usually solved within a month for problem cases, or just days/weeks after a release.

 

So I went to my dealer today to have the oil changed (3month regiment), and asked them to check to see if the bulletin was updated. They told me it was, and it was a software update.

 

Does anyone have a link to the bulletin? PIT5358 . I logged into our All Data account and cannot seem to locate the PIT. I just want to make sure they have the corretion bulletin, as they wrote the comments on the repair order as a volumn issue. They did not perform the software update today since I came in as a waiter and will reschedule me later, which is fine.

 

I google search gave me a website that shows the PIT but with no information displayed unless I pay to view it.
