Anyone have GMC 2500 hd double cab 4x4

Looking for payloads without having to go to dealer, I build the HD's in crew cab so I have a pretty good idea of those (average 2100-2300 lbs and a few up to 2650 lbs).

I am really trying to stay away from 3500 but may have too go that route. Diesel is a no go either due to placement of DEF box under the frame and cost of diesel kit.

Basically I am looking as getting a toyhauler with a pin weight of right around 3000. 5th wheel will be kept at a campground 75% of time with a few trips around Michigan throughout the year roughly 6. Most distance traveled would be around 400 miles one way.

Truck has to be daily driver.

Just wondering how much more a double cab would give me.

Thanks

I would say either would do it. 3k would just pretty much level out the 1 ton the 3/4 would squat but not bad. that's just putting stuff in the bed that heavy. I had over 4k in both trucks beds. 30 some sheets of 12 foot sheetrock was about 3500 give or take it barley squat it mostly level it in my 3/4.
