First Impression - Road Trip in My New Silverado

I took my first road trip in my Silverado today (2016 LT v6 double cab). Was about 130 miles for the trip. I averaged 24.1 mpg while I was in awd mode. My f150 with the 5.0 v8 was getting 18-19mpg on the same route in the same temps.

 

The ride quality seemed slightly rougher than my f150. I am not sure why though with the similar wheel bases.

 

But yeah I am very happy overall. I will make a couple more posts in the near future on my extended impressions.

Ive gone on multiple 400 mile plus road trips with my truck and love it. I have the 6.2 v8 and the best I averaged in the auto setting is 22.1 mpg. Cant wait to see what mpg I get this summer, as I am planning on going on a 2000 mile plus road trip to the lower 48 from Alaska

Not bad! Best I got was 25.1 with my v6 in the summer.

Wow I took around a 200 mile trip and this is what I averaged. Speeds were around 65 to 75 mixed super slab and rt 66.

 

This is pretty good to me with the 5.3 cc sb. Maybe I have low expectations? Can't imagine 28mpg average....

You should call GM and see if they are interested in using you and your vehicle in an ad. Or, perhaps you had a heck of a tailwind, because that's way above average mpg for those speeds.

The problem is I'm in L.A. so when I drive in beach cities like Manhattan Beach I get around 10 mpg.
