My stock 94' s15 jimmy 4x4, 4dr., 4.3L V6, 30/9.5/15 pathfinder A/T's, with my 300lbs butt, and another 300lbs of junk, ran a 17.2 sec. quarter. Right now my truck seems real peppy, so I might try and take it out agian next friday, and this time take the spare off, and the other crap that is all in the back of my truck.

You should be able to get into the mid 14's with your truck weight - watch out for the tranny after you instll the blower.

My first time on the strip today, my best time was 16.981 @ 82.38 My truck weighed in at 5,560lbs with me in it.

r/t 1.245

60' 2.567

330 7.150

1/8 10.979

mph 64.85

1000 14.200

1/4 82.38

This is running oversized tires with a stock engine.

Nice showing - a couple of suggestions for your next run - ignore the r/t and race your own slips - lock it and rev up to about 2000+ and let it go - see if you can knock the 60' down closer to 2.0 secs and you will be a happy camper - love to put mine on a crash diet to knock 1400 lbs off it

BTW - sneak up on the WOT - helps defeat the torque management.

Glad to see another convert to the 1/4 mile strip

Thanks for the advice, I have been holding it around 1600 rpms, I have a hard time holding it any higher than that even with the brakes planted on the floor. I'm looking forward to the day I can remove the torque management completely from the computer. :sigh:

Also, I learned to not race with a full tank of gas, just unnecessary weight to be carrying around. Next time, I'll go down to about a 1/4 tank, and fill up again afterwords.

i planned on taking my truck to the track tonight but it being monsoon season in Tucson and all, i had to cancel... what do you guys think my 1/4 time will be? dont forget to compensate the heat and that i'm at 2500' in altitude...

i had a 96 impala ss awhile back that i raced here also, it had RAM air, x-pipe and a 160 thermo, its best time was 15.5 sec. so i'm hoping i at least get into the 15's... i hope , i hope , i hope.....

Silverado sick boy,I dont understand how your truck runs 16.4s.I would think it should definateli be in the 15s.Do you have severe tire spin when you launch?
