Buying Help

A friend of mine was asking me questions about buying a used Chevy. She is intersted in a 1999 or 2000 and wants to know common problems and other pre-purchase goodies. She'll probably be looking at either the 5.7L or the 5.3 in a 2WD 1500 model. I wanted to pass on some web sites that she could check out (besides this one) and all I could think of is Consumer Guide. Any ideas?

 

As far as problems with the trucks all I could really think to watch out for is the CSK. Does this problem rear it's head early on in the trucks life or can it show up later as well? I'd really like to help her in any way I can as she's switching over from Fords to her first Chev.

I had a 99 GMC and a 01 Chevy. The Chevy was a much better truck. Alot of improvements were made between 99 and 01. I would reccommend that she look into a 01. I think she will get a much improved truck.
