Those of you who added Infinity Kappa's to your trucks, did it really increase performance of stero system ? Not overjoyed with the radio in my 03. Also did you add amps or anything ? Want it to sound good and fairly loud.

Oh yes it was worth it!

Dont know about adding the components alone since i also added an amp at the same time.

One thing i dont like about the Kappas tho is the tweeter. It is too friggin crisp. I think its aluminum and if i had to do it again, id find me a silk dome tweeter or the like.

They go fairly low, but im still saving for a set of woofers under the rear seat someday.

Other than that, they rock with my Fosgate 2 channel feeding them 100 watts each.

Theyre rated at only 90 watts, but 100 works fine.

Are you talking fronts, rears, or both?

I have a pair of rear kappas I am not using if you are in the market...

I put Kappas in the front and the rear. They are a vast, vast improvement over stock for sure! DiHappy is right, I find the front component tweeters a bit too crisp or bright for my liking. I turn the treble down a tad to deal with it.

I replaced the Head unit with a Panasonic MP3/CD 25W RMS x 4 and I am very very happy with it. My next step is to run 'real' speaker wires and install an amp to get cleaner sound.

nothing that an average guy could afford can beat the kappas! I have the Kappa seperates up front with 4x6s in the rear. I have a kenwood amp powering both sets with all the bass going to a MTX thunderform amp/sub box under the rear seat. With a kenwood MP3 deck, if I turn it up all the way I can't stand to be in the truck. It is very clean sounding too boot. You can not go wrong with the Kappas!

I replaced the Bose speakers in the Vette with Inifinity Kappas. 3-ways in the front and 2-ways n the rear. Huge improvement in sound quality. You won't go wrong for the price. Rock on, Don

I went with Infinity on my truck and am very happy. I started with the speakers, then upgraded the stereo, then ran new wires while adding a new amp to run the mid/bass & subwooofer. Each change added new clarity and depth. The stock speakers really are horrible. Adding new speakers on your stock deck will make it sound worlds better. And if you stop there I'm sure you will be much happier than with stock. There's also an audio forum on these boards if you hadn't noticed. Lots of great advice there.

My crewcab (according to Crutchfield) uses 6.5" speakers in the front and 6.75" speakers in the rear doors.

I have found the fronts in both 2-way and 3-way speakers and the rears in just the 2-way. (62.5i and 63.5i for the fronts and 652.5i for the rear).

Which set-ups are you guys running?

Also it appears that there is a seperate tweeter in my front door...

I've found the 2-way speakers for $80/pair in both sizes.

Just an FYI:

Check out eBay for stereo components. I got my Kappas for my Corvette there and paid half of what Crutchfield wanted. I've got 4x6s in the dash and 6x9 3-ways in boxes in the back. Sounds great. No amp, just a Kenwood Excelon CD receiver.
