2007 Silverado 1500 A/C trouble

New poster here. I have seen a few other threads with this topic but they have all been different years and I have yet to find a solution. I bought a used 2007 Silverado 1500 a few days ago and today was the first day I have driven it where I have really needed A/C. I had it on and it was ice cold while I was driving. However, I then stopped and was sitting idling in a parking lot and I then noticed it was warm and that the a/c light went off. I tried to push it again and simply got three blinking lights. I watched for a while and it would cut back on and then cut back off. While it was doing this it would also switch back and forth between the recirculate function and outside air intake all on its on. Then when I started driving again the a/c stayed on like it should. So frustrating since I just got this! Otherwise I love my truck. Any help/suggestions or a point in the right direction from you all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Also, to give you all a little more info, I know temp can sometimes affect this. It was probably 45 this morning but it was still doing this this afternoon and it got up close to 80 here today, so it had been in the heat for hours.

Are the radiator fans turning on? If not, there is a problem.

The radiator fan isn't turning on. The engine was actually getting very hot today while it was idling. While driving it was fine due to wind blowing in. One of the fans will turn on while the A/C actually runs for a few brief seconds before shutting off. When the a/c shits off again neither fan is running. While driving down the highway everything is perfectly normal ( a/c stays on and ice cold and engine temp stays constant at a good level. Idle for more than a minute and both are back to malfunctioning.

I'd check all your fuses and relays to eliminate that possible problem. Until those fans are turning on as expected you are going to have this problem.
