Guys,

Re: DTC 16 Vehicle speed sensor (VSS) buffer – signal low Wiring, VSS buffer, ECM

I have a 1994 GMC Yukon Sport with 350, K vin, 4x4, automatic. The truck keeps throwing a DTC 16. The truck will very intermittently ride like it has a miss in power under acceleration in all gears and speeds. To best describe the feel is like someone is behind your seat and keeps pushing on it, giving the feeling of speeding up and slowing down ever so slightly in 1 to 2 second increments. Sometimes the feeling is more than others. It is almost like a slight transmission slip. It could throw a code in 1 days worth of driving or it may take several weeks. It could run perfectly for a 40 mile trip or intermittently throughout the trip run as previously described. Turning off the engine and restarting has no effect, nor does manually switching through the gears. There is no fluctuation in the tach during these events. I have replaced both the speed sensor in the tail shaft and the VSS buffer board. The wiring seems to check out ok. All sensors, injectors, fuel pump/filter have been changed over the past year, including the TPS and PCM. Is there anything else that I can check that could be causing this code?

Thanks,
