opening upper glove box with broken handle

Truck is a 2007 GMC Sierra

 

Got the truck last week and I knew the upper glove box was broken. I cant get the darn thing open though. The latch/handle thing with the dimple on it is broken and no longer attached.

 

How do I open the glove box? I have found plenty on how to replace the latch once the glove box is open but cant find anything on getting the glove box open with a broken latch.

Upper one is easy. I can't figure out the lower one. Lol just stick something flat i.e.Back end of a fork, standard screwdriver. At the bottom pushing the piece were it broke to the right. I hope I said that we'll enough to be understood.
