engine codes

I'm having problems with my 2004 chevy silverado 1500 v6 4.3l truck. it's a good truck and I like it. the problem I'm having is that its throwing my random codes that prevent me from having it inspected. I get sometimes a random misfire code or codes 430 and 420 or just one of those. we went through and fixed the misfire...someone put a wrong screw in the distributer cap, and it was vibrating around. and we fixed a vacumn leak. and replaced the gas cap. how ever once we fixed it and reset the check engine light, i would drive the 60 miles for the computer to clear..and no sooner than i get to the auto shop for inspection, the dang light comes on again. im just wasting money and putting miles on the truck at this time, and dont know what to do. any ideas would be appreciated .

Drive real close to the inspection station, then disconnect the negative battery cable and leave it off for about 5 minutes. Reconnect the cable and carry it straight in for inspection....don't forget to set the clock before inspection.
