Excessive end play in a G80 rear axle

I have 2013 1500 regular cab short bed with 14000 miles. There is so much end play in the 2 axles it sounds like something is loose under the truck. The right wheel is worse. I can jack up each wheel and pull the wheel out and back in or just grab the back corner of the bed rail, shaking the truck and get the same noise. The noise showed up last year. The dealer says it is normal. This truck has a G80. I traded in a 2003, same model, also with locking rear and it did not make any noise after 10 years and 77000 miles. This is not a locking or unlocking noise everybody talks about. Any thoughts?

My 2012 did the same thing. It is normal to a point as the rear axles are held in with c-clips so there is some side to side movement. There is if I remember correctly a limit of 12 thou end play per axle. When mine got fixed one side was at 17 and the other side was 9 thou

Was the repair done under warranty for the noisy g80 rear axle. My dealer told me to turn up my radio, wow, really helpful!
